The nine finalists have been confirmed for the last stand of the World Cup of Poker VIII. Each team consists of four online players and a Team PokerStars Pro from each region will be allocated to the teams for the final which will take place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas in January.
The nine teams are Peru, Costa Rica, Germany, Netherlands, Tajikistan, Japan, France, Italy, and Rest of the World which features players from Thailand, Hong Kong, and the Republic of Korea. Tajikistan fought tooth and nail for a place in the final, beating nations like Russia, India, and the Ukraine.
Elsewhere, the recent Sunday Million was won by a player from as far afield as Ghana. “NhPokah” topped a field of 6,624 to take the first prize of $141,799.84 (his share of a three-way deal) from the $1,324,800 prize pool.
